Collection contains a two-page, typed inventory of items (1860-1956) originally owned and used by the Clark, Gruber and Co., and Clark and Company; three additional handwritten pages contain the above inventory, as well as one for items (1865-1929) from the First National Bank of Denver; and a third "miscellaneous" list of items(1865-1932) also held by the bank.

Clark, Gruber and Co. was originally founded by Austin M. Clark, Milton E. Clark and Emanuel H. Gruber in Leavenworth, Kan. (1858). The company moved to Denver (ca.1859). It was the first official mint in Colo. and minted coins (1860-1861), and gold ingots (1862) before being bought by the United States Mint in 1862.
